Tiffany and Jonathan's Wedding
5 January 2023 #Desomatrimony
Finally it’s time to share in all of our excitement and talk about Tiffany and I’s wedding!
We got engaged back at the end of March 2022 and decided to continue together on this wildly wonderful journey together. Since then we began the process of wedding planning. A not so simple process with a multitude of moving parts, Tiffany and I both took it upon ourselves to plan our wedding without a coordinator. I’ll spend some time talking about our process and then transition into talking about the day itself and share some pictures!
Wedding Planning
For us our initial decision was whether we were going to “elope” or throw a traditional style ceremony. We reflected on this for decision for a while and came to the conclusion that we wanted to offer the opportunity of our friends and family to come and celebrate our love with us. Once we decided that we were going to be including our friends and family we had to decide when and where we were going to have everything. For us it was easy to decide when based on when we had time off for school. Where took a little bit of digging. It was between Florida and Arizona where both of our families live. Since we opted to plan for our wedding in January 2023 (1/5/2023) we decided that it would make more sense for everything to happen in Florida near Tiffany’s family. Then with some snooping we found The Fusion Resort . A location not too far from Tiffany’s hometown of St. Petersburg, FL. We fell in love with the property!
Once we had the location, things slowly progressed to include discussing decorations and catering with the event vendor, finding a DJ and coordinating the musical accompaniment, finding a photographer, finding a cake vendor, asking our officiant to preside over the ceremony, finding a florist who could obtain and design our floral arrangements, sourcing a venue for our rehearsal dinner, and synergizing all of these details into a smooth schedule. I won’t bore you all with the extensive details, back and forth communication, and discussion that this entire process took, just know that it took months of coordination and planning for everything to come together. Let me take a few moments to say some nice words about our vendors below before getting into the day itself.
Venue: The FUSION Resort www.FUSIONTreasureIsland.com
290 107th Ave, Treasure Island, FL 33706
A gorgeous resort located on the intracoastal waterway of Treasure Island, Florida able to host picturesque events with onsite catering and a tremendously flexible and courteous staff! We could not recommend this event space higher!

Florist: Sharen’s Flowers & Gifts https://www.sharonsflowersandgifts.com/
A fantastic florist who was easy to work with and able to source exactly what we wanted in a timely manner!
DJ: Crew Entertainment https://crewentertainment.com/
Truly a world class MC who is absolutely a professional! He was able to provide expert counsel and carry the energy throughout the entire night. DJ Mike Sean Fernandez was a joy to work with and he executed flawlessly!
Photographer: Corner House Photography https://cornerhousephotography.com/
With an eye for seeing the beauty in the world, Corner House Photography captured our memories of our wedding that I will cherish the rest of my life! Truly professionals that know what they are doing and how to capture the best part of your event! It’s their pictures that you see mostly through this post!
Cake Vendor: Halelife Bakery https://www.halelifebakery.com/
A wonderful accommodating bakery that “all live with or have a loved one with celiac disease, food related illnesses or allergies.” And are a “dedicated bakery free from gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts (besides coconut), and shellfish.” This was such a unique find that made our gluten free guest feel welcomed! Everyone LOVED our desert spread and we would highly recommend them to all of our friends and family!
Rehearsal Dinner Vendor: Sea Dog Treasure Island https://treasure.seadogbrewing.com/
A wonderful venue that was able to accommodate multiple dietary restrictions for our guests to include those who were gluten free and vegan! They were tremendously helpful and local to the Treasure Island, FL area! Highly recommended venue to provide for any event!
The Wedding Day!
The day began with Tiffany and I waking up in separate rooms. We decided that the night before our wedding we would sleep in separate rooms and then prepare to see each other at our first look! In the morning it was socked in with fog! We were mildly worried because our wedding was outside! Luckily as the morning continued the fog dissipated and ultimately a rainbow gave us the good signs of what was to come!
Pre-Ceremony: 1:00-5:15 PM
Right after lunch time is when we began to get ready. I really could only snack as the nerves began to bubble up. A tad after 1pm our photographer arrived and he began to grab all of the details and each of our respective getting ready photos.
After we got ready it was time for our first look! What a magical time!
Once we both wiped the tears from our eyes after the first look it was time for the portraits as well as some other newlywed photos.
Ceremony: 5:15-5:45 PM
The ceremony was a combination of Tiffany’s and I’ desires. After some careful thought we wanted to have our bridesmaids and groomsmen walk in to “Canon in D” by Johann Pachelbel. At the completion and with the groom halfway down the isle we would both walk in together hand in hand to an instrumental version of “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beetles. The ceremony was officiated by Tiffany’s youth pastor with each of our own personal vows. Following our vows and the exchanging of the rings we wanted to plant a unity plant! That was such a fun thing together to signify our selves joining together to the accompaniment of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Finally for the recessional wedding march exit we went for “This will be” by Natalie Cole.
Reception: 5:45-10:00 PM
After the ceremony it was time for us to head to the rooftop for our reception, BUT before we could do so we were whisked away for some quick photos as the sun began to set and lit up the sky!
After our post ceremony photo session, we headed upstairs for the reception and entered after our wedding party to the beginning of “Music for a Sushi Restaurant” by Harry Styles and then proceeded to do our photo challenge! Our photo challenge was set to the tune of “Marry You” by Bruno Mars as we went to every table before the end of the song.
Then proceeded our cocktail hour.
Following our cocktail hour we went into the shoe game where Tiffany and I challenged each other to who is better at couples trivia. No surprise here, it was Tiffany! :)
Following our trivia session, it was time for speeches.
Once speeches concluded we cut the cake!
Then we did our first dance to the heartfelt song “Two” by Sleeping at Last followed by the couple’s dance to “Stand by Me” by Ben E King. At the end of the couples dance the married couple who had been together the longest provided us with some hard earned advice!
Then we got a group photo of everyone!
Directly following the group photo we transitioned into opening the dance floor to “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston!
The rest of the night was filled with dancing, cake, catching up with family as well as friends and celebrating Tiffany and I’s new beginning together! Finally it was time to thank everyone for coming out and to wind down for the night.
Overall we had such an amazing time and could not have asked for a more precious event! Everything came together and we are so privileged to have so many wonderful people who came together to celebrate with all of us! We are so blessed to have so many people who love and support us and could not of made this all happen with out everyone’s help!
