Wow! Where to begin! Let me try and wrap up what has happened since our last segment.
Midway through my 3rd semester of medical school and we had started learning about the respiratory system. Pretty cool stuff! Not too long into respiratory it was time for Tiffany and I to celebrate another anniversary!
The Dothan Area Botanical Garden
We decided to take off a Sunday at the end of September for our anniversary and check out the Dothan Area Botanical Garden for our anniversary and everything was so colorful! We got some incredible pics and made a cool video to showcase the area. Check it out and the Dothan Area Botanical Garden!
Camp John Marc Staff Promo Video
A couple of weeks later in the middle of October a friend of mine asked if I would be willing to help him film a project for him. It is a staff promotional video that seeks to recruit staff members for Camp John Marc, a camp he has personally worked at for a number of years that provides “Year round programming and specialized camp … uniquely designed in partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth area pediatric hospitals, community volunteers, and health organizations who are dedicated to serving campers living with chronic medical and physical challenges” https://www.campjohnmarc.org/ . Was a fun way to get out and help with a good cause. Check out the video here!
Staying Active
Certainly, as crazy as 2020 is I had to make sure that I had an outlet for all of my pent up energy. Channeled this energy into some wonderful bike rides that also let me use my creative side and try and time lapse them into a bite sized shareable format. Hopefully you enjoy them!
Halloween!
Now moving into the end of October we came to Halloween and while we could not celebrate as we would have done due to the pandemic, Tiffany and I were able to attend a small out door bonfire as a scare crew… lol!
Racial Disparities in Pregnancy Related Mortality in the United States: A Systematic Review
For school in our Foundations of Modern Healthcare course a poster project that my group had been working on finally came to a conclusion in November. We put together our poster and a quick video walking through our research that looked into the disproportionate pregnancy related mortality ratio that effects black women. Bunch of good work there that you can check out more in this blog post I did earlier here !
Thanksgiving
After our Diwali celebration, school primarily transitioned to online/distance learning. Due to the ongoing pandemic I decided to remain local to school to minimize the chance of being a vector. While it is never fun to miss a holiday with family, I was able to spend a little more time with Tiffany and some other friends who remained responsible and local. Check out some of our pics and a cool time lapse of our feast!
Spotify Wrapped
Certainly, music is also a big component of my life! All the while 2020 has been off the rails, I have had Spotify fill the background void and December is when the Spotify Wrapped came out. Some surprises on my favorite songs of the year, but no surprises in the overall picture. Check out what I like to listen to!
Besides all of the other events of the semester, I also seemed to pick up a few quirks here and there.
I fell in love with avocado toast… again! Lol What’s not to love !
Also… PIZZA! Been making my own at home and having a blast doing so!
Still enjoying time with Tiffany and trying to bring the romance with a cute note here and there!
Tiffany’s elation after receiving surprise love note ! lol
With the end of the semester and getting through Cardio, Respiratory, Renal as well as the next semester of OPP, PCS and Foundations it was time for a short rest. I made the difficulty decision to remain at school for the break away from my family to reduce the risk of exposing others. While time off from school will be nice, being away from family will be a bummer, at least Tiffany and I will be able to hang out! But with this break comes the realization that boards are just right around the corner! YIKES! Hahah Stay tuned for all of the other adventures and experiences to follow!
